You're almost convincing me, Gank. I don't share your optimism on Jarvis though - I hope I'm wrong, of course. But it's just been so long since he's done anything other than what Allardyce asked him to, and I'm not convinced that (mentally more than physically) he has it in him to turn the clock back. Let's face it, it was half a decade ago that he was destroying us for Wolves at home under Zola, and 4 years since his solitary England cap which seems like another world frankly.
Anyway, this is the best team I can come up with. The back four kind of picks itself, even though Cresswell hasn't been much worse than Jenkinson thus far, but he's just lucky we don't have a decent alternative.

Only other real option is Lee up front with Nolan in the central attacking midfield role and Payet wide instead of either Kouyate (who could arguably drop back with Noble on the bench) or Jarvis.

tnb - I'm actually ok with that idea. Nolan's problem isn't that he's shit, but that his legs are shot for this level. However, hanging around right on the defensive line wouldn't be too much for him and we know he can nick a goal when he gets up there. Add to that Jarvis, probably the best crosser of the ball we have at the club who will finally be given his own job to do at last after having been wasted all the time Carroll isn't playing, I think it's a serious option for us.
People shouldn't judge the team on paper, we don't have any shit players, we just don't use them all properly. The right person in the right place given the right instructions with the right team mates will see us ok here and if that involves Nolan and Jarvis then fine.

I can't come up with any team that doesn't involve Nolan up front and probably Kouyate out wide, or alternatively Jarvis starting. It's not pretty.

We can win this match, there are goals in our team from midfield even if you don't use a 'proper' striker.
Liverpool are likely to beat us, same as Arsenal were likely to beat us and we were likely to beat Bournemouth.

Don't really care about the result although I'd obviously love to see some points. I think after the last two matches I'd just like to see some improvement both in tactics and player performances. I don't want go hear the Bilic supporters making lame excuses for him. He needs to get them prepared and organised and the personnel he has are still better than some other squads have.
